And, we're back to reality! The return from a long and relaxing weekend is one of the least exciting parts of any national holiday. So, to make the transition into September slightly smoother, we've rounded up eight events to look forward to this week.

Catch the Open.
The US Open is in full swing and the Amex EveryDay Card wants you to join in on the fun. A live broadcast of the U.S. Open will be shown from 11 a.m. until match play ends every day through Monday, September 8. On certain dates — September 6, 7, and 8 — this FREE viewing party will also offer the first 500 guests a specially curated picnic basket from chefs Tom Colicchio, Thomas Keller, and Daniel Boulud. Tennis and a complimentary meal, anyone? Yes, please!

When: Now through Monday, September 8, from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Where: Pier 1 at Brooklyn Bridge Park, Old Fulton Street; Brooklyn.

Recycle old denim.
J.Crew and Blue Jeans Go Green are teaming up to help communities in need turn old denim into eco-friendly insulation for civic buildings and new homes. The program, which will run until the end of September, is a triple win: clean out your closet, help communities in need, and receive $20 off your next J.Crew denim purchase.

When: Through September 30.

Where: J.Crew stores.

Take your closet high-tech.
Ministry of Supply has been on our radars for quite some time now, and we admit, we've been envious of the dudes who get to don the duds. This high-tech menswear line offers "performance professional" clothes: heat-regulating dress shirts, water-resistant chinos, and more. Check out the label's one-day pop-up shop this week. Pick up something for your man friends and maybe even plug a transition into womenswear. Because everyone needs a pair of coffee-infused socks!
When: Wednesday, September 3, from 3 to 10 p.m.
Where: 74 Orchard Street (between Broome and Grand streets).

Celebrate The Last Days of Folly.
This Wednesday, Rachel Feinstein's "Folly" — three large-scale aluminum sculptures set in Madison Square Park — will serve as the backdrop for a one-night-only evening of live performances. Not only is this an opportunity to catch the installation before it closes on September 7, but the free event will include performances by Lil Buck, a Sofia Coppola-orchestrated piece featuring young Joffrey Ballet ballerinas, and much more.

When: Wednesday, September 3, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Where: Madison Square Park, East 23rd Street (between Madison and Fifth avenues).

Hang with a winner.
You may have heard that Marcia Patmos recently took home the International Woolmark prize a few weeks ago. This week, her eponymous label M. PATMOS will celebrate the launch of its fall 2014 collection at KISAN. Fall in love with the Reversible Doubleface Cocoon Dress and the Gathered Leather Editor Skirt. And, did we mention guests will receive a complimentary gift with purchase? Cha-ching!
When: Thursday, September 4, from 6 to 8 p.m.
Where: KISAN, 125 Greene Street (between West Houston and Prince Street); 212-475-2470.

Get glam.
Glamour is hosting its first three-day interactive styling experience starting this Friday, just in time for Fashion Week. Stop by Chelsea Market for complimentary makeup applications, eyebrow styling, skin-care treatments, dry hair styling, a virtual color contact studio, a personalized scent experience, and more. Feeling extra fly? Enter the Street Glam Photo Challenge by posting a photo to your social media channel of choice for a chance to win a $2,000 shopping spree.

When: Friday, September 5 to Sunday, September 7, from noon to 7 p.m.
Where: Chelsea Market, 410 West 16th Street (at Ninth Avenue); 212-727-1111.

Stop and smell the roses.
Keep the scent of summer alive this weekend and next at flower-arranging classes with experts from the New York School of Flower Design. Renowned floral designer Michael Gaffney will be on-site at Hyatt Union Square to teach participants all things vasing, cluster design, bouquet tying, and more. You'll learn a thing or two and leave the class with a beautiful bouquet that you designed.

When: Saturdays, September 6 and September 13, from 2:30 to 4 p.m.
Where: Hyatt Union Square New York, 134 Fourth Avenue (between 12th and 13th streets); 212-253-1234.

Get a taste for Williamsburg.
Forty local restaurants and breweries. Live music. An afternoon in the sun. These are the ingredients that make TASTE Williamsburg one of the most delicious events in town. Cafe Colette, Maison Premiere, The Meatball Shop, Reynard, and many more make for a fantastic multicourse tasting menu. Plus, all proceeds from TASTE will help fund the Northside Town Hall Community and Cultural Center.

When: Sunday, September 7, from 1 to 5 p.m.
Where: 90 Kent Avenue (at North Eighth Street); Williamsburg.
Tickets: $25 for four food tastes and two drink tastes; $45 for eight food tastes and four drink tastes.
