Guess what, folks... New Year's Eve is here. We already offered up some options for original party get-ups, and we're hoping you got your look together in time... i.e. the outfit's been put together, the shoes picked, the make-up done (well, soon, right?), now you just need that final last touch to make it all come together. Out of ideas? No problemo. We figure we'd get creative on your behalf, and offer up some last-minute accessory solutions from…the amazing Manhattan wonderland that is The Trimmings Store. Our fave trimming supplier, M & J Trimming is open today... (so get a move on already!)
Appliqués: An instant bit of bling that can salvage even the drabbest dress, appliqueés are a super easy way to add a little something extra. Just attach a festive applique to a neckline, shoulder, waistline, or clutch and let the good times begin.

Obi Belt: Inspired by the spring '09 runways, Obi belts are all about cinching it with style. Just pick out some heavy brocade ribbons, and then start going around and around and around—fasten with an oversized safety pin for a raw finishing touch.

Head Gear: Find an interesting deco applique or some cute beaded fringe and stock up on bobby pins. Contrasting colors do best here, so think bright and shiny.

Feathered Fringe: Sew feathered trim to the hem of a dress (no one will notice your crooked stitching in the dark) or go for a bolder look by attaching some full feathers along your shoulder-line.

Take a Bow: Grab some amazing wide ribbon, tie it in a huge bow in back (or front), and presto - an instant feminine touch to any get-up. Another option: pin it to your neckline or get out your bobby pins, and tie it up in your hair
