United Bamboo Piles On the Shine & Sophistication For Spring

Friends and fans alike, including jeweler Waris Ahluwalia and legendary skateboarder Mark Gonzales, gathered at the Altman Building this past weekend to take in the evocative sights and sounds sent down the runway by United Bamboo duo Miho Aoki and Thuy Pham. The background music, provided by Sean Lennon, set the tone for the varied looks, which ranged from '60s-inspired swing coats to '80s pant-suits. Dramatic rosettes adorned black "ladies-who-lunch" hats while silhouettes were made even more sophisticated with high-shine fabrics, florals, and big obi-like belts. Overall, it was pretty and wearable, but with the right kind of edge UB is known for.
