And Scene! Urban Outfitters Takes Over DTLA’s Rialto Theatre

Catching a flick at a historic theatre lends that extra dash of Hollywood glamour, and we're lucky L.A. is packed to the hilt hills with beautiful venues. Aesthetic touches like red-velvet seats and retro architecture all help create an awesome atmosphere, and it seems like the behemoth retailer, Urban Outfitters, is feeling the vibe. We just caught wind that the brand is moving into DTLA’s historic Rialto Theatre and will open a huge, two-story brick-and-mortar by the end of this year. Paying tribute to the roots, UO is revamping the interior with a concession stand-inspired cash wrap, exposed wood, and a projection screen, not to mention restoring the theatre’s marquee (which is the oldest in L.A.). It’s no secret DTLA is quickly becoming a hip hood, and this latest development has got us considering an apartment move!
