Typically, we wait until the turkey coma subsides to break out the big 'ol shopping list (isn't that why Black Friday was invented?). But, between the Cooper Building and the bevy of sales around town, we'll be the first to admit: Gift shopping arrived unseasonably early this year.
And, with Kate and Laura Mulleavy's shopping tips fresh in our minds, we've been eyeing one-of-a-kind finds, Rodarte-style. This means doing a bit of Proust-worthy research on our buds and visiting re-sale, thrift, and antique stores in the hopes of hitting the jackpot. Well, rather than running around town wasting gallons of gas, we've decided to swing by this month's installment of the Venice Bazaar instead. Located under one roof in Venice, vendors such as Scout, Prism of Threads, and New/Found will be on hand with loads of vintage wares — the most personal of presents according to Kate and Laura. Plus, designers Jesse Kamm, Jessica Seaton, and Osei-Duro will be offering up their L.A.-made merch, perfect for those on your list who would likely regift that '60s clutch. Remember: The early bird catches the worm!
When: Saturday, November 17, 2 to 6 p.m.
Where: The Sacred Door at All For The Mountain, 2118 Lincoln Boulevard (near Venezia Avenue); no phone.
