VPL Spring ’12 Goes Bold In Body And Shape

vpl embed
In her latest, and arguably most glamorous, take on ready-to-wear, Victoria Bartlett injected a new level of structure and all-out sensuality into her collection by embracing exaggerated shapes, cutouts, and a mix of textures and techy fabrics. Playing hot and cold with neon orange and ashy gray with pops of first-spring green, the VPL lineup possessed a part-sporty-surfy, part-futuristic theme through hooded, cropped jackets, shoulder-slung knits, and dresses embellished with thick, sturdy strapping. Erring on the side of avant-garde, Bartlett's padded peplum skirts, exaggerated shoulders, and highlighter-bright shoes made this VPL collection feel more complete than ever before—a commercial success that sacrificed none of its artistic ambitions. Check out the four standout looks that caught our attention.
