Every year since 1978, the witty Style section writers at The Washington Post have compiled The List, a partly serious, partly silly rundown of what we're all totally over — and totally into — for the upcoming year. This year's list, written by Dan Zak and Monica Hesse, was released today, and, as always, it makes for a pretty solid conversation-starter.
Is Ryan Gosling really out, to be replaced by Michael Fassbender? Say it ain't so! And will Taylor Swift's impulsive bangs become more popular than Michelle Williams too-cute pixie cut? We highly doubt it. Yes, bandage dresses are out and wide-leg trousers are in, and Scandinavian rustic does feel more right-now than flea-market chic — but will naps outpace apps? (Actually, we might be okay with that.)
