Wedding Day Beauty Essentials For The Stressed-Out Bride

1. Chantecaille Protection Naturelle Loose Powder

"Whatever part of my brain decided an outdoor ceremony in August was a good idea, clearly wasn't taking my hyper-pale skin into consideration. I need SPF protection, but I don't need that slimy sunscreen residue showing up in photos. A brush-on SPF will make sure my skin is protected during the ceremony and won't leave it feeling all greasy and slick."
$72, available at Nordstrom.

2. Sonia Kashuk Spoolie Brush
"Rather than deal with the hassle of false lashes, I opted to get lash extensions. The fabulous Soul Lee over at Kiehl's Spa 1851 did such an amazing job on my fringe — it looks like I have naturally lush, lengthy lashes. In fact, they're so long that they sometimes get tangled, so I have to use a spoolie brush to comb them out each morning. Lashes so long they snarl? Now there's a beauty woe you won't hear me complaining about anytime soon."
$1.99, available at Target.

3. By Killian Rose Oud Perfume
"Everyone kept feeding me all of this jibberish about "feeling pampered" on my "special day." Gag. While I rolled my eyes about it at the time, as the date got closer, I started to wonder if some of the products I was choosing were "special enough" to wear on my wedding day. Yes, I drank the Kool-Aid. This gorgeous scent is just one example of my inner princess bride rearing her ugly head — its unique blend of rose and oud create a heady scent that feels distinct and romantic, which I think every bride secretly craves, at least on some level."
$395, available at Saks Fifth Avenue.

4. Sprayology SleepEase Homeopathic Oral Spray

"The stress and the excitement over these past few weeks have been building, along with my inability to catch a proper eight hours of sleep. I react to sleeping pills like they're some form of insane street drug, and since I don't want to go all Miami cannibal on anyone, I opt for homeopathic remedies like this one. Just a few sprays under my tongue at night help me relax and quiet my overactive mind, so I can nod off into la-la land a little more naturally. After all, no one likes a cranky, sleep-deprived bride on a rampage — or so I've heard."
$26, available at Sprayology.

5. Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet Luminous Matte Lip Color in La Fascinante and Le Crayon Lèvres Precision Lip Definer in Rouge
"I may be an unconventional bride, but that doesn't mean I can't throw a nod to the classics with my beauty look. Even though my dress is short and my veil is gold, I feel like my overall wedding style is a little retro, so I'm going with a classic, deep red lip. I'm actually wearing these two colors in my headshot above. A big thanks to Chanel's Fulvia Farolfi, who handpicked these shades for me at an event and said they'd make an amazing match for my lace dress. My makeup artist, Nicole Iannitti, is shading in my lips with the liner first, which will ensure the lipstick stays in place long after that first kiss. Sure, I'll have to re-apply later in the evening, but it's worth it for a look this beautiful."

$32.50 and $29, available at Chanel.

6. Sue Devitt Microquatic Marine Crystal Collagen Eye Swirls
"I predict dark circles and puffy eyes in my immediate future, so I'm packing these cooling eye masks to ward off any signs of exhaustion — or tears. Packed with hydrating ingredients, these nifty gels will make sure my eyes look bright and refreshed."

$60, available at Barneys.

7. Caudalie Crushed Cabernet Scrub
"My dress is strapless and a deep sweetheart neckline, so I need to make sure my neck, back, and decolleté positively glow. I'm heading to Bliss to indulge in their famed Carrot and Sesame Body Buff the day before the wedding, but to keep that smooth skin sensation going, I'll be following up with Caudalie's fabulous grape-based scrub on the actual wedding day. It's will help refine my skin and promote drainage of excess water, so my skin can look de-puffed, satiny, and radiant."
$29, available at Sephora.

8. Skyn Iceland Glacial Cleansing Cloths
"After an exhasuting day of planning, followed by, you know, the actual wedding, I don't seeing myself having the energy to properly wash off all that makeup. Cue makeup wipes! I love these ones from Skyn Iceland because they actually get everything off, but they truly don't leave behind a gross, sticky residue — just soft and clean skin."

$15, available at BeautyBar.

9. Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Mist
"They had me at the name with this product. I'm terrible at getting in what feels like the gallons of water every skin expert recommends you drink each day, so in order to keep my complexion plump and, yes, dewy, I rely on face mists like this new one from my latest brand obsession, Tatcha. It will hydrate and cool me down in the sweltering heat, so that's win-win in my book."

$48, available at Tatcha.

10. Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray
"Rather than try and fight the inevitable effects of heat and humidity, I'm embracing the natural texture of my hair with a fluffy, slightly undone updo that looks soft and romantic. My hairstylist dreamt up a cool interpretation of the braided styles from Valentino's spring '12 show, so we're going to be piling on the texturizing spray to make my hair have that slightly fuzzy effect. I love this one from Oribe because it gives hair the grip it needs to hold a style like this, but doesn't gunk up your locks. I call it boudoir hair in a can — sexy, undone, tousled strands in just a few spritzes!"

$39, available at Neiman Marcus.

11.Clarins Blush Prodige Illuminating Cheek Color in tender Peach
"While backstage at Bridal Fashion Week (yes, that's a thing), I picked up an invaluable blush tip from Clarins makeup artist Jean Fayard: 'In photos, peach is much better than pink — it's softer, so you look more natural,' she told me. I held on to that little nugget for my own wedding, so I'll be skipping the rose petal pink in favor of a warmer, more flattering peach. Let's face it: My washed-out complexion needs all the help it can get in the warmth department."

$28.50, available at Nordstrom.
