t's not often that a designer gets her own flagship store after just one season. Parson's grad Annie Havlicek, then, seems to be pretty damn blessed—she just opened her eponymous boutique on Orchard Street this past Saturday. Our curiosity amply piqued, we took a tour of the sweet spot this weekend to give you the 4-1-1, and we're concluding that it deserves a place on your LES must-shop itinerary. Don't check yourself if you think you've landed in France, the store's charmant detailing (think mirrored dressers, creamy moldings, antiqued frames, and vintage chandeliers), and Renoir inspired frocks read more atelier on the Seine and less downtown destination. Annie's spring '10 merch on tap includes her own floaty, cloud-white trenches, crisp linen blazers, and oversized striped oxford shirts, (all $98-$450), plus bonuses like Brixton Hats, Digby & Iona jewelry, and some one-of-a-kind curious like hand-painted china, and smoky, etched mirrors. We recommend making room in your shopping bag for Havlicek's collab with Osborn Shoes: Cute summer cream-and-tan canvas-and-lace oxfords that are just right for summer. When you're done, meander on over to Café Select, where Annie's boyfriend, Max, is a bartender. Order a French Martini—trust, you'll feel like you're in Paris in no time.
