This election was a long, hard slog with some tough choices — but it's over, people. According to your votes, the creator of the most original costume at Refinery29's Halloween party and winner of a $1,000 in cash, is film director Crystal Moselle for her "Love Letter" outfit.
Said Moselle about her literate look, "The day of the party (I come up with the best ideas under pressure), I was laying in bed, going through my references, and I came across a few pics of gangsters with tattoos on their faces. So, I thought I would tattoo a love letter to my face or just be a love letter. I could be super romantic and gangster at the same time! I think romance took over, though."

"I bought the roses — everything else was already mine — and went to my bestie Jeylan Yolac's house. I knew she was the only one that could truly write the love letter...well, it was actually a mix of love letters from my past mixed in with some of my own thoughts. The face and body painting took about four hours and looked perfect all the way to the end of the night. I was a good girl."
Indeed, Moselle is such a good girl that she's donating her $1,000 prize to Sandy relief efforts! Well done. As a costume creator and a person, you're an inspiration to us all.
