Want A Crash Course In Vino This Weekend? You’re In Luck!

WineRiot2slide
Love a great glass of wine, but wish you had more know-how when it came to choosing a bottle? This weekend, Wine Riot goes down at DAR, and you're going to get your wish. Geared toward non-experts, the festival features 72 wineries with more than 250 wines to sample, ranging from Argentinian Malbecs and California Cabernets to German Rieslings. Plus, there will be music, food, and plenty of other perks, including a mobile app (available in the iTunes Store or online for Android and Blackberry users) that'll let you save your favorite wines on your phone.

If you want to boost your brain cells while you sip (maybe a little counterproductive, we know), take one of the free 20-minute educational seminars and get a guided tasting before you hit the main floor. A $50 ticket includes sample-size pours of all the wines at the four-hour event — not a bad deal for becoming a bona-fide oenophile, right?

When: Saturday, May 5, from 1 to 5 p.m. or 7 to 11 p.m.

Where: DAR Constitution Hall, 1776 D Street NW; 800-430-1553.
