Award season is upon us and while we were happy canaries at the Emmy’s and eagerly waiting for January’s Fey-Poehler hosted Golden Globes, right now all we can think about are the Wall Street Journal Magazine’s Second Innovator of the Year Awards. The award honors six of the most “creative, disruptive, and influential individuals in the world today across categories including Fashion, Architecture, Design, Education, Art, and Technology.” The honorees, chosen by editors of the Wall Street Journal, were celebrated last night at the Museum of Modern Art.

And guess who took home the award for Fashion Innovator of the Year? The brainchild of our favorite myestery-solving, fun-loving, fashion-designing Olsen twins, THE ROW.
Established in 2006 by Mary-Kate and Ashley, THE ROW has produced bags for Barney’s, sunglasses with Linda Farrow, TOMS with, well, TOMS, and so much more. WSJ praises the designers for “display[ing] an eye for nearly monastic classicism that’s redefining American luxury” and we agree wholeheartedly. Earlier this year, The Council of Fashion Designers of America named Ashley and Mary-Kate as Womenswear Designers of The Year. All in all, we’d say the twins are on a roll.
Congratulations are also in order for the five other Innovators of the Year – Wang Shu for Architecture, Patrick Kinmonth for Design, Eric Eisner for Education, Theaster Gates for Art, and Jack Dorsey for Technology.
