Kanye West, Kendrick Lamar: Barclays Center, November 19 and 20, $49.50
With his 60-foot screen fixed and his artificial mountain in tow, Yeezus himself is about to descend on the hallowed grounds of Brooklyn's Barclays Center. For two nights in a row, industrial rap will rain from the loudspeakers as the most talked about man in music brings his uncompromising vision to New York.
Tuesday and Wednesday, November 19 and 20, 7:30 p.m., Barclays Center, 620 Atlantic Avenue (at Flatbush Avenue); Brooklyn; 212-359-6387.
Mazzy Star, Psychic Ills: Terminal 5, November 20, $35
California dream pop legends Mazzy Star reunited for this year's typically nostalgic (albeit unexpected) Seasons of Your Day. Now the band is taking the record on the road, and we couldn't be happier. When it comes to blissful bummers, Hope Sandoval and David Roback do it better than anyone.
Wednesday, November 20, Terminal 5, 610 West 56th Street (between 11th and 12th Avenues); 212-582-6600.
Sleigh Bells, Danny Brown, Doldrums: Terminal 5, November 22 and 23, $25
With a one-two punch that makes almost too much sense, bubblegum-noise duo Sleigh Bells take the stage with none other than Detroit rapper Danny Brown. Both performers are about as fun as live music gets, which should make coughing up the cash a no brainer.
Friday and Saturday, November 22 and 23, Terminal 5, 610 West 56th Street (between 11th and 12th Avenues); 212-582-6600.
