It's a rare crop of stars who, from pretty much the get-go, have shined consistently on the red carpet. No awkward mini-skirt moment. No Herve Leger bandage dresses. No obvious, ratty extensions. And, Freida Pinto is definitely a card-carrying member of the rarely fail pack. While we've long admired her from afar, we had a chance to get up close and personal with the stunner at the NYC premiere of her new movie, Trishna, hosted by The Cinema Society, Circa, and Rachel Roy.
The movie — based on Thomas Hardy's Tess of the d'Urbervilles — is a harrowing and haunting tour de force (with breathtaking visuals of modern-day India) that really allows Pinto to show off her formidable acting chops. It's her first headlining role, after all. Then, there's that face — the big screen magnified her in such a way that we could actually hear theatergoers whispering, "Isn't she beautiful?" In the flesh, the L'Oréal model is also pretty flawless, not to mention, sunny, sassy, and sweet. Of course, her clothes game delivered, too: She rocked a white Rachel Roy cocktail frock embellished with scalloped crystals, which she made pop by accessorizing it with a subtle Harry Winston diamond bracelet and earrings (though, we might have opted for lighter shoes). We recommend you hit up the movie this opening weekend. We guarantee you'll be girl-crushing as hard as us.
