She has been the Girl On Fire, but it appears that Jennifer Lawrence is letting her role as the Mockingjay take flight. For the October issue of
W magazine, of which she is the cover girl, the actress got a little featherbrained, because, well, birds are so hot right now. Taking a page from the book of Natalie Portman/Mila Kunis, she got all Black Swan on her Tim Walker-shot editorial and appeared bedecked in feathers. Many, many feathers.
The whimsical shoot almost bordered on Capitol of Panem ridiculousness, but Jen's classic beauty and clean makeup kept things from going to the birds. The emphasis on the feather trend was strong, and while the cover image might not be the best shot of the set (she really does look like Odile, and the feather-like, hair hat is rather intense), but the shoot is certainly not devoid of glamour. Yet, we can't help but imagine the on-set discussion: "Jennifer, can you gaze at that peacock? Move over a little bit...can someone get that parakeet to shut up? And who knew there was a such thing as an ostrich allergy? Handlers! We need handlers!" (
