For a man who does so much, Karl Lagerfeld sure has a lot of time to spout one-liners. From bears ("Bears are very nice, as long as you are nice to them.") and tattoos ("I think tattoos are horrible. It's like living in a Pucci dress full-time.") to his perception of homosexuality ("When I was a child I asked my mother what homosexuality was about and she said […] 'It's like hair color. It's nothing. Some people are blond and some people have dark hair. It's not a subject.' This was a very healthy attitude."), Karl Lagerfeld's bon mots are definitely some of the most quotable in the industry. Whether he's waxing quippy on affordable fashion or Adele's weight, Lagerfeld never really holds anything back (even in moments when he probably definitely should).
French publisher Flammarion has taken advantage of Karl's loose lips, and is compiling a book of Lagerfeld's most infamous quotes to run alongside 80 illustrations by artist Charles Ameline. Titled Le Monde Selon Karl (The World According to Karl, for us English-speakers), the book will be released this fall. Lagerfeld was not involved in the book project, but WWD reports that he was "happy with the compilation." What, Karl, that's it? What do you really think? (WWD)
