It was once-local designer Louisa Parris’ first collection of gorgeous, silky scarves that proved we don’t have to be police investigators to have our very own “most-wanted” list. And now Parris, who has recently decamped for her native London, is breathing new life into the ultra-graphic wrap-arounds by transforming them into gowns! And in this stunning video short, Bright Borough, we get to peep the illustrious gowns in action!
The film starts off on a dramatic note as a projector displays abstract photographs on blank scarves, but takes a turn for the whimsical with a choreographed dance set to music by Pindrop. Directed by Parris’ sister Georgia, the video was recently played at London Fashion Week, where spectators got to see every fine detail as a trio of dancers pranced around in the flow-y floor-length frocks with wing-like side panels. And now it’s your turn! Press play on the video above for evidence that change really is a good thing, and major bonus points if you can identify which scarf was renovated into the pretty piece.
