Reintroducing: The Mullet Skirt Like You’ve Never Seen It

As quickly as they became the go-to piece for kinda dressy occasions, mullet skirts quickly fell out of favor. The knee-length-in-the-front, maxi-in-the-back skirt attempted to be both casual and fancy at the same time, and became the silhouette of choice for situations that called for that sort of ambiguity (backyard weddings, reunion bar crawls, your little sister's graduation from traffic school). Typically sheer, sometimes pleated, and featuring that distinctive swoop, the mullet silhouette became the bandage dress of 2013, and then disappeared pretty much everywhere except for two-for-one lemon drop night at your neighborhood hookah bar.
But, they've quietly snuck back in the form of a very innocuous, much-more-subtle mullet miniskirt. With a white exterior and a pink interior, this slightly curved Topshop shorty resembles the uneven bottom of an oxford shirt. With a longer back, it'll display a pop of pink where your legs are, and the scalloped sides are a fun, whimsical touch. More couture than clubby, this version of the uneven hem feels surprisingly understated (plus, doesn't immediately call for a circle hat and Lennon sunglasses). Click through to see it from all angles, then decide if you're ready to embrace a whole new business/party ratio.
