Rare Device Is Moving To The Hot Lower Divis Strip

Rare Device Divisadero
With a brand-new year comes some big changes for a gaggle of local shops and restaurants, it seems, including one of our favorite quirky home goods boutiques, Rare Device.
The store and gallery, currently holding down the corner of Guerrero and Market, is moving on up...north. To be precise: 600 Divisadero Street (at Hayes Street) in the emerging Divisadero Corridor 'hood (or, as some like to call it, Lower Haight or the Western Addition).
The relocation is expected to happen in early March and signals another little surprise, too! The folks at Rare Device say the new locale will include a shop-in-shop for mega-adorbs Little Otsu, the much-beloved paperie that shuttered its boutique on Valencia in late 2010.

This news, combined with other projects in the works on the hot lower Divisadero strip, is making it one of the micro-hoods to watch in 2012.
To recap, the area is already packed with a host of swoon-worthy shops (Prairie Collective, The Perish Trust, Dina Louise, Cookin', The Other Shop) and eateries (Ragazza, Nopa, and Nopalito just around the corner). Plus, of course, there's the sure-to-be-amazing new coffee house project from Jeremy Tooker of Four Barrel and sourdough god Josey Baker of Josey Baker Bread (read up on that spring 2012 project here). All in all, props to Rare Device on the wise move!
