As if the Mission wasn’t already the buzziest boutique scene of the moment—with Shotwell and Freemans Sporting Club moving into the ‘hood, joining a bevy of recently opened fashion hot spots—it looks like there’s another must-hit space joining the fray. When we stopped by Revolver’s Lotus Root pop-up store last week (see the green-themed pics here), shop owner Robert Patterson tipped us off that construction is currently underway on a Revolver-Mollusk Surf Shop-Prairie Collective-Rosenthal Gallery mash-up that will be located right next to the cult-worshipped Four Barrel coffee shop on Valencia and 15 Street. The block, which The Bold Italic recently dubbed the “Valencia Bottoms micro-hood," is also home to Nooworks, The Common, and No vintage boutique. With a proposed in-shop submarine constructed by the Mollusk guys, a tiny Japanese house-like structure containing Revolver’s goods, art by Rosenthal, and beautifully undone plant arrangements provided by Prairie Collective (a shop which still needs to officially sign on to the project), Valencia Street just got a lot more interesting. And that’s saying a lot.
