If hip-hop has recently seemed like a competition to see how many illegal substances a rapper can fit into a verse (or their body), then Schoolboy Q and A$AP Rocky’s “Hands on the Wheel” may take the gold. Held together by a hazy, pitched-up hook taken from Lissie’s cover of Kid Cudi’s “Pursuit of Happiness”, the two rappers spit mentions of coke, shrooms, crack, ecstasy, and of course “weed and brews.” It’s a delirious brain-melting ode to getting fucked up, held together by two guys who sound so sharp a bucket full of codeine won’t slow them down.
