Is The No Makeup Look On The Runway A Total Cop-Out?

Now that we've had a few weeks to process all the beauty looks from Fashion Month, we're noticing a distinct beauty trend — or should we say a non-trend. As we’ve been clicking through all those runway snaps, one of the things that we’ve found ourselves saying over and over is, “hey, are those models wearing any makeup?”
What gives? The no-makeup beauty look was spotted at Vera Wang, Calvin Klein, Proenza Schouler, Giles, Theyskens’s Theory...the list goes on. We can’t help but feel a little cheated — we always look forward to Fashion Week because we’re anticipating something unusual, creative, and so off-the-wall that we’d be judged for wearing it in public. We dig a good look that gives us an opportunity to wield every brush in our kit and get our makeup artist on as we recreate it at home.

Even though we know it’s no small feat to make skin look as dewy and flawless as it appears on a runway, it still feels like something that could be accomplished by slapping on some tinted moisturizer, mascara, and lip balm after rolling out of bed in the morning. But, there is an upside to that – besides getting points for ease, this look (in real life, anyway) lets your natural beauty shine through instead of competing for attention with more dramatic makeup.
But what do you guys think? Is an au-naturale look on the runway bailing on beauty, or are you a fan of the minimalist makeup spotted during Fashion Week?
