Our Newest Men’s Style Inspiration: Tintin

There are a lot of cute comic book stars who we wish we could will into reality. Archie. Clark Kent. Aquaman. But perhaps no animated lad has quite the fashion sensibility as the young reporter immortalized by Belgian artist Hergé in over 24 books — Tintin, mais oui! A bit traditional, a bit dashing (those rolled pants are sooo Opening Ceremony!), Tintin's a wardrobe role model for hipsters who dig Cigars of the Pharaoh or Park Avenue Princes who lean more toward The Castafiore Emerald.
So, on the eve of the major motion picture event we've been waiting for since kindergarten — Peter Jackson and Steven Spielberg's The Adventures of Tintin, out tomorrow! — we think dudes everywhere could take some sartorial cues from this daring Euro (and speaking of the "S" word, don't you think Scott Schuman could make 'Tin a street style phenom?). To help you get all Tin-tastic, we've put together a little hit-list of five Tintin essentials — the coat, the pants, the sweater, the shoes, the, uh, hair gel — no guy, fifteen or fifty, should be afraid to try. Snowy, unfortunately, you'll have to find on your own.
