Chanel Is Burning: Vintage Haven Fly Boutique Reopens After A Fire

When we heard the news that Fly Boutique had caught on fire, we cried at the thought of burning vintage Roberto Cavalli tops and Valentino bags. Thankfully, the blaze (which started within neighboring restaurant Soprano Café’s walls) was put out in time, leaving the employees and merchandise unharmed. And, after having to shut down for a month and a half, Fly Boutique’s owners decided to do us a major favor and expedite their reopening. Seriously, they’ve moved just up the block...instead of waiting for those pesky repairs that could take up to three more months.

While the new spot is smaller and is currently holding only two-thirds of the original shop’s inventory, we’re already a bit obsessed with the fresh digs (who says size matters?). Just off Lincoln Road on Euclid, the cozy space is conveniently located next to a parking lot, meaning you won’t have to elbow your way through hoards of meandering tourists to get to the goods.

But what’s happening to all that overstock, you ask? Come early December, the long-time Miami Beach resident is opening a second location on the mainland (72nd Street at Biscayne Boulevard). Besides its heavily curated selection of timeless accessories, shoes, handbags, dresses, tops, and bottoms, the expansive emporium will also carry re-worked furniture and other decor items that are guaranteed to make you feel right at home. Let's just hope they have fire insurance.
