New Trend Alert: Valentine’s Day For Your Face

Well, this is something we don't see every day: holiday makeup that looks like Valentine's Day for your face. This Topshop creation is a sharp departure from the beauty looks we're used to seeing this time of year — and we're totally digging it. You'd think pairing pink eyeshadow with crimson matte lips would be a big no-no, but it's actually the prettiest thing we've seen all week.
As soon as we saw this photo, we knew we had to try that matte liquid lipstick. Turns out, it was made in heaven, or at least hand-crafted by an angel somewhere. It's a whole lot like our favorite Sephora cream lip stain, but the color is a much darker red. Usually with liquid lipsticks, it doesn't get darker than what you see in the tube, but this one will create a color as deep as your heart desires. And, it's so long lasting that you don't even need to think about wearing a lip liner with it. It's just not budging. We dare you to try to smudge it once it's dry. No, really, try to.

We're also loving the subtle glossiness of the smoky pink shadow. It makes the color look like it gradually liquifies across her lids, pooling gorgeously at the inner corners. The model appears to not be wearing blush, which is the key to making this look work. Otherwise, she'd just look like a monochrome pink blob.
