By now we've seen the pastel hair trend take serious hold — but mostly for gals with lighter locks. Blondes can have more fun with a pink or blue ombré, while those of us with darker strands (ahem) are left to shelve our Easter-egg hair dreams. (Our browns and jet-blacks just don't jive with those fluorescent hues, right?) Well, leave it to Katy Perry to be the dark-maned girl's hair-color champion.
The singer took to Instagram to share her new "slime-green" hair color, but with a twist. Instead of all-over-color — because all-green hair might be a little much, even for Perry — Katy opted for ombré, leaving the top of her hair jet black. While the faded look may not be as seamless as it would be if Katy dyed her crown back to her natural blonde, it still works in a cool, grungy way. But mostly, it shows that even girls with black hair can rock a pastel ombré with the best of 'em.
Katy's neon green isn't the first Crayola-colored hair we've seen this week. Kristin Stewart showed off her newly dyed orange shade on Saturday. And, can we just say, both dye jobs are giving us flashbacks to Kate Winslet as Clementine in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. And, that is just the kind of beauty inspiration we need on this gray spring day.
