They dressed up as Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake, circa 2001. Raff wore his finest, most Timberlake-esque Canadian tuxedo, while Perry wore a long dress consisting of a multicolored denim bustier top and mermaid skirt.
Perry did take some liberties with Spears' original outfit — she incorporated acid-wash denim and bedazzling. Still, her main goal for the outfits was to pay direct homage to Britney and Justin's extremely questionable ensembles from the American Music Awards that fateful day.
