photographed by erin yamagata.Backstage at DKNY, we couldn't believe our eyes. A model with an undercut? At DKNY? Turns out all the long hours we'd put into Fashion Week had made us delusional. In actuality, we'd just spotted one crazy-cool braided 'do. (It's the hairstyle that never stops giving, seriously). And, upon further examination, we've grown even more impressed with this trompe l'oeil look. Thanks to a head-hugging braid, hairstylist Eugene Souleiman achieved the edgy, shaved-on-the-side thing sans razor.
It goes without saying that the whole look is enhanced by the model's striking hair color. No, it's not just the lighting — that is, indeed, a slight tinge of pink. Talk about the cherry on top of an already cooler-than-cool hairstyle. This might be a look designed for fall, but it's definitely making us think spring.
