You’re likely aware of New York via Copenhagen musician Amalie Bruun, even if you don’t know you know her. For starters, she plays in indie pop band Minks, who toured with Dum Dum Girls, and released last year’s quite-good, By the Hedge. She’s also an actress who was featured in the SNL Lonely Island parody video “Jack Sparrow” (you know, the one with Michael Bolton), where she played “Jenny” to “Forrest Gump.” Oh, and Bruun starred in a Chanel commercial that Martin Scorsese directed. Not bad. Yet it wouldn’t be nearly as impressive résumé if Bruun’s solo music wasn’t so good in itself. Fortunately, Amalie Bruun’s latest single, “Siren,” from the upcoming CRUSH EP, is a great addition to her oeuvre. The track mixes ‘90s alt rock guitars with dream pop vocals, and manages to sprinkle in just a hint of goth. Seeing how prolific Bruun has been thus far, we imagine that we’ll be hearing more from her quite soon. Check out the darkly beautiful video below.
