Update: This story was originally published on March 2.
Feeling stuck in an interiors rut? This week, we’re exploring apartment refurbishing with Homepolish designer Michele Bitter and client Rebekah Rombom, the head of Business Development and Partnerships at the super cool Flatiron School.
To spruce up Rebekah’s space, Michele started by smartly dividing the small studio into living room, bedroom, and home office. A large bookshelf allows for storage and light diffusion while separating rooms — but you knew this. The real genius presents itself in the apartment’s color scheme. An amazing ikat rug find led to the purple, saffron, and gray colors dotted around the space. A good theme will keep your place interesting without feeling cluttered — and, with matching candy, crystals and pillows, Michele and Rebekah have done just that. Click through the slideshow to explore more awesome details (including a beautiful lucite trunk!).
