With A BH Pad & Vintage Rolls-Royce, Hedi Slimane’s Livin’ It UP In L.A.

Hedi Slimane may be a busy man this summer, you know, rebranding the house of Yves Saint Laurent and crafting a bag just for Gwyn, but that hasn't stopped the former Dior Homme designer from kicking back and enjoying the fruits of our slice of paradise. When it was announced this past June that Slimane would remain rooted in L.A. (rather than relocate to Paris like the rest of 'em), many industry folks held their breath. What would become of the très chic garçon and the legendary label? Well, according to
Vanity Fair
, the sunny lifestyle is treating Slimane (and YSL) quite well, thank you very much.

In the short feature within the mag's September issue, Slimane's life in Lala Land still remains mostly on the DL. However, the details about his '60s modern home in Beverly Hills and vintage '80s Rolls-Royce are enough to conjure up fantasies of swanky house parties (which we'd die to be invited to, of course!), and parking his luxe ride at Whole Foods for a quick errand.
Our visions of Slimane becoming a man-about-town are unlikely (he's so hush-hush!) — but one thing's for sure, his alternative approach to design has the support of fashion's top tier. YSL's own Pierre Bergé has given him his blessing, and with the recent "discovery" of L.A. becoming a fashion capital (we knew it all along!), we think it would be wise for other designers to take note and pay us an extended stay.
