We aren't exactly ones to do what our favorite celebrities tell us. We also try hard, on this site, to present the election and the issues that face all women in an unbiased light. But when our favorite (and we mean favorite) ladies whose art/music/writing we love get together, well, suffice to say: We pay attention.
In support of Obama — or rather, to rally against some of Mitt Romney's policies, like his plan to immediately defund Planned Parenthood — some of our favorite ladies got together to do an impassioned lip-synch to Lesley Gore's proto-feminist anthem, "You Don't Own Me."

Amongst the ladies spotted are (in no particular order): Alexa Chung, Lena Dunham, Sarah Sophie Flicker, Tennessee Thomas, Erika Spring, Karen Elson, Alia Shawkat, Mae Whitman, Miranda July, Lisa Mayock, Sophie Buhai, Tracee Ellis Ross, Sophie Buhai, Carrie Brownstein, Tavi, Zoe Kravitz, and a pretty badass Natasha Lyonne.
What amazing phone tree do we have to get on to be asked to do something like this? Do you think these people all hang out in some amazing feminist club where they just say brilliant things and eat noodles and pet their cats? Can we come along next time?
Also, is that Alison Lohman and Mykki Blanco? Who did we miss?
