It's happened: our greatest guilty pleasure, Twilight, must come to an end. With the impending release of the series' Breaking Dawn Part 2, we begin to take our final steps away from tweenhood. Yes, fan-fiction certainly is a viable solution, but instead we offer you a new angst-filled pop-cultural obsession — The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones.
The book series by Cassandra Clare has been gaining some serious steam since its release in 2007 (or so the Wikipedia entry says). Thus far, there are five books in the science-fiction-meets-fantasy series, with a sixth one expected by 2014. Here's what you need to know: Brooklynite Clary Fray (played by Lily Collins) discovers her ability to see Shadowhunters (a.k.a demon killers) and learns more about the secret practice via a true Shadowhunter, Jace Herondale (played by Jamie Campbell Bower, swoon). Hmm, bet they're totally not going fall in love or something.

The movie is set to release August 23, giving us plenty of time to catch up on some reading. Though letting go can be difficult, at least we can now clutch our shiny new MI hardcovers while simultaneously blasting "Total Eclipse of the Heart." We wonder how Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson are feeling about all of this. Oh, right: apathetic.
