Thanksgiving is just about here. So, while you are spending some Q.T. with the fam, give a second look at Aunt Carol: That great head of hair or that sassy pose...maybe she is a model-in-the-making? Hey, a later-in-life modeling career can happen when family gets together, as one intrepid grandfather demonstrates.
Liu Xianping, a septuagenarian whose granddaughter (and her college friends) run the online shop Yuekou, was helping the girls unpack one day, and the moment took over Xianping. Suddenly, he was trying on the clothes, and the girls thought it was funny and started snapping him. Lo and behold, an Internet sensation was born.
Yet, the most heartwarming part of this story is Xianping's willingness to take part in the project. He tells Shanghaiist, "Modelling for the store is helping my granddaughter and I have nothing to lose. We were very happy on the day of the shooting. I’m very old and all that I care about is to be happy." Which is, like, what being a grandfather is all about, right? Now, if we could only get Grandpa Frank to put on some tights this holiday, we'll be in business. (Shanghaiist)
