Any good Spice Girls fan knows and is comfortable with the fact that Posh has always been a bit different from the group. Since the ladies' girl-power music career ended, her career's been the only one that truly taken off, with an admirable clothing line and relatively stable celebrity status — plus, David Beckham. But, we always figured nothing could stand in the way of true friendship, right?
Well, things got a bit tense last night at the London debut of the Viva Forever musical at the Piccadilly Theatre last night. And we're suddenly calling that last sentiment into question. Victoria Beckham completely missed the photo-op, posing instead with her family and looking undeniably chic in subtle colors that were a stark contrast to the other Girls' much more done-up looks (gowns were involved). Victoria later joined the group on stage, where the juxtaposition became even more painfully obvious.
Maybe we're reading too much into Victoria's lateness. Maybe it was an honest mistake. It's certainly hard to tone down the sheer enthusiasm resulting from seeing all five '90s icons standing together in one place. But, it's indisputable that this was a distinctly awkward occasion.
