Wanna See Stringer Bell DJ? Yeah You Do!

And breath...
Idris Elba, a.k.a Stringer Bell, a.k.a Luther, a.k.a the next James Bond — yes, we're choosing to believe those rumours — is returning to his club roots with a Friday DJ residency at Love & Liquor in Kilburn.
We've become a little tired of the countless celebrities and models who have jumped aboard the decks-wagon, especially when the A-lister in question's DJing skills amounts to waving their hands around and studiously clutching their headphones while some lackey does the hard graft of, y'know, actual DJing. But Mr Elba actually has some serious credentials on this score.
Sure, he has Golden Globes and Hollywood blockbusters under his belt, but the Hackney-born thesp started out in the club scene during the late '80s, had his own pirate radio show in the early '90s, and co-produced and performed on Jay-Z's 2007 album American Gangster. So, he's one of those annoying overachiever types. DJ Driis will take to the decks in North West London each week with a different special guest, playing a mix of U.K., U.S. garage, and hip hop.

We strongly suspect that this man knows how to throw an awesome party, so book a table right now and tell everyone you know. Or maybe, keep this information to yourself in the hopes of crowd control.
Where: DJ Driis at Love & Liquor, 34 Kilburn High Road, NW6 5UA; 020 8969 0098; every Friday until March 15.
