The Angel Wears Prada — Carey Mulligan’s Ladylike Harper’s Bazaar Cover

If you've spent enough time with us over the past few weeks, you'd know that we've got Gatsby fever here at R29. Baz Lurhmann's vision for F. Scott Fitzgerald's crown jewel is coming to theaters next week, and we can't stress enough how badly we want to fast-forward to May 10. The press around this movie has been as infectious — and Harper's Bazaar UK is the latest to catch the bug. For the magazine's June cover story, Carey Mulligan candidly talks everything from her Daisy Buchanan character to Prada, and crushing on race car driver Michael Schumacher while her girlfriends fawned over her costar, Leonardo DiCaprio.
"Well, he [Leonardo DiCaprio] wasn’t my pin-up," Mulligan confesses, "but he was for a lot of my girlfriends. Michael Schumacher [was my pin-up]. I used to watch Formula 1 with my dad when I was little." The actress also divulges some secrets from The Great Gatsby set where LMFAO's "Party Rock Anthem" was the cast's go-to energy booster: "That’s what we used to dance to. It’s also the song that made me laugh hysterically and there were lots of times when I needed to go into a scene with that kind of energy."
Carey's full interview appears in the June issue of Harper's Bazaar, on sale today, May 1. It's also available as a digital edition. In the meantime, preview the ethereal Prada filled ten-page spread here and maybe listen to the soundtrack while you're at it. (Harper's Bazaar UK)
