Rita Ora Bicester British Designer Boutique 2013

When someone invites us to Bicester Village, we don't need to be asked twice. Frankly, anywhere that sells cut-price Céline, YSL, and Prada is worth at least a one-hour train ride from Marylebone. But yesterday, we had an even better excuse for making the trek: Rita Ora opened the annual British Designers' Collective Boutique, which features a bevvy of covetable names including J.W. Anderson, Mary Katrantzou, Peter Pilotto, Preen, Holly Fulton, and Jonathan Saunders, as well as emerging talents like Lucas Nascimento and Athena Procopiou, all at heavy discounts. Rits was suitably decked out for the occasion in a scarlet Roksanda frock and Nicholas Kirkwood heels — both also represented on the boutique's rails.

"My style is very British and a bit dressing-up box I guess; it's a real mash-up that's all about spontaneity and playing around with different looks," she gushed, "it's been such an honour meeting the designers behind these incredible pieces — I'm just so thankful that Yasmin asked me to get involved."

The Yasmin that she is referring to is Yasmin Sewell, the influential fashion consultant and perennially chic street-style star. Sewell curated the pop-up boutique, which is now in its fourth year. This year's theme is "Future Vintage," with a focus on iconic pieces that are, in Sewell's words, seasonless. "We're in a pretty exciting era for British fashion at the moment and I think this is reflected in the mix. I just wanted to handpick the best of the best. When we put this together, it was about finding the pieces that are timeless. To me, it's irrelevant when they made their way down the catwalk because everything in here is about infinite style."
