Twenty five minutes outside of London sits Elmbridge, a quaint little borough nestled away in Surrey, which happens to be the U.K.'s answer to Beverly Hills. Really.
How, you ask? Well, its residents fork out, on average, a whopping £16,100 a year in taxes — that's more than those in Glasgow and Cardiff pay out together.
Where is its answer to Rodeo Drive, we hear you cry? Mmm, good question. It has to be said that there aren't that many Chanel stores and Harry Winstons in Surrey — if any. But scratch beneath the surface and you can see what Elmbridge is really made of. The charity shops are awash with DVF dresses, Ossie Clark blouses, and Royal Worcester bone china. Very fancy. Who's up for a good thrifting session?
