Is it just us, or does booking spa and salon appointments seem like more work than it theoretically should be? You dial a number, you suffer through Muzak while waiting on hold, and when you finally get a live person, your chances of booking a primo appointment are next to nil. Not exactly the stuff relaxation is made of.
That's why we're beyond stoked about the just-launched app Beautified, which is one of those brilliant, why-didn't-I-think-of-that ideas that could transform the way we book beauty appointments. Through the gorgeously designed app, you can browse a curated group of top-tier salons and spas — we're talking seriously big names such as Frédéric Fekkai, Tracie Martyn, and John Barrett — to view last-minute appointments. Need a pedicure in half an hour? Want a blowout this afternoon? Just enter your credit-card information, and your service is booked, confirmed, and paid for. Done and done.
Right now, Beautified is available only for New York City spas and salons. But, the trio behind the app — R29 fave Hannah Bronfman, Annie Evans, and Peter Hananel — tells us that more cities will be rolling out in the future. Brings a whole new meaning to "booking by phone," doesn't it?
