Here in London, everyone’s going loopy over Wimbledon. Strawberries are selling by the (overpriced) bucket load, and white ensembles are out in full force. Even residing artists have gotten tennis-fever, with the arrival of a pop-up charity exhibition in Soho, titled TAB — that’s Tennis Art Ball, in full.
The week-long exhibit (ending July 1, so quick, hurry!), is in association with WJ London, and benefits the Greenhouse charity. Twelve contemporary artists stepped up to the challenge, transforming the fluoro-rubber sports sphere into exciting pieces of art to prove the ball has far more potential than just flying back and forth over Centre Court. Full of slightly weird, but totally wonderful results, ranging from the tennis-ball sundae to the flesh-coloured face ball, the exhibition is already in full swing— so, take cover from the Wimbledon drizzle and stop in to show your support.
When: June 27 through July 1, from 12 p.m to 7 p.m.
