One of the most iconic fashion pieces that a designer can make is a signature handbag. It speaks to the artists behind the stitches and clasps, and preserves their contribution for years down the line. So, with the debut of Alexander Wang's first collection of Balenciaga handbags, let's just say the New York wunderkind has officially left a supple-leather, clean-lined mark on the fashion world with his Le Dix designs.
Honoring the original Balenciaga salon address (10 Avenue George V), Le Dix helps transition to new aesthetic for the French line; forgoing the Nicolas Ghesquière studs for a more Wang-like modern, simplistic look. Making their debut in stores this August, the structured, functional-chic Le Dix collection allows Wang to show off the same accessory catnip he's created with his namesake label, and has created a longstanding style item that properly marks the first year of his major career move.
