Move Over, Jennifer Lawrence: Lily Collins Is YA’s Next Big Thing

Okay, we don't really mean that Jennifer Lawrence should move over, because there is more than enough room for two well-spoken, action-oriented leading ladies in our hearts. Yet, our crystal balls confirm: Lily Collins is on a Lawrence-like ascent to stardom. Like the Hunger Games star, Collins' first starring role was in an Oscar-nominated movie (The Blind Side), and also like Lawrence, her first huge role is going to be a blockbuster, thanks to a beloved fan base. Collins stars as Clary Fray, the protagonist in the supernatural YA series, The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, which has gotten so much hype that the studio has already green-lit the sequel. And the first installment isn't opening until August 21.

For her first September issue, Collins looks picturesque on the cover of Elle Canada, shot by Max Abadian and styled by Isabel Dupre. If one can't immediately tell, Collins' eyebrows give Cara D.'s a run for their money, and the star's allure is both approachable, feminine, and slightly otherworldly. Editorial modeling suits Collins perfectly, and she nails bohemian romance with aplomb.

Officially no longer just "Phil Collins' daughter", Lily is poised to hit hard with The Mortal Instruments — and we can't wait.
