Taylor Swift might actually have nailed the whole making-money-doing-something-you-love thing. Her entire (well, not entire) oeuvre is dedicated to the ghosts of romance's past. She dates, we get it. But, Taylor Swift really gets it. She gets it so much, she's not afraid to go on record and flaunt it.
Swift recently sat down with
Rolling Stone
and got down to the basics of her inspiration after a tour stop in New Jersey. "I am getting to a point where the only love worth being in is the love worth singing about," she told Rolling Stone. Basically, the boyfriends are musical material and dating Swift means potential exploitation if things go badly (or if they're going swimmingly, too). "If someone's singing a song about that feeling, then you feel bonded to that person," she explained. "I guess that's the only way I can find an explanation why 55,000 people would want to come see me sing."
Girl, we can't agree with you more. Haters are going to hate (and sometimes make rude T-shirts), but hey, Swift is the one laughing all the way to the bank. (Huffington Post)
