Even with a White House known for being in touch with the younger generation, a FLOTUS-sponsored hip-hop album is definitely a first. But it's true: MObama has upped her cool quota with a soon-to-be released record, Songs for a Healthier America, compiled as part of her Let’s Move! campaign targeting childhood obesity. The album features hip-hop artists that range from old-school Doug E. Fresh to the likes of Jordin Sparks and Ariana Grande for the younger set. With song titles like “U R What You Eat” and “Veggie Luv,” there's no doubt who the album is for, but the array of talent is nonetheless impressive. The album will debut in New York City in September and then make the rounds to other cities. Now that FLOTUS has mastered style, food, social media, and music, what's left to conquer? (Washingtonian)
