New Zealand designer Karen Walker is kind of a fashion powerhouse — and for good reason. Her clothes are tailor-made for in-the-know city girls, her cult-status sunglasses have been spotted on celebrities and fashion bloggers alike, oh and don’t forget about the corresponding inventive ad campaigns. But focusing on her big hits ignores one of our more favorite aspects of Walker’s genius — jewelry. Subtle and simple, her seasonal jewelry collections hides Walker’s signature quirky aesthetic in plain sight.
We’re stoked to see the next concept Walker’s tackled and made into a jewelry line: the weather. With rings and necklaces inspired by rainy days (sprinkled with some proper nephrological terminology, to boot), Walker’s made the gloomier aspects of our everyday lives — you know, clouds, lightning — wearable and um, adorable. Topped with teeny, colored gemstones we wouldn’t be surprised if these little cuties started getting as much attention as the kiddos Walker tapped to front her latest sunglasses campaign.
