Step aside, Airbnb. Now there's a new way to feel like a Los Angeles local. onefinestay, a new category of upscale non-hotel lodging that lets visitors live like a local by staying in a distinctive home while the owner is out of town, launched in L.A. yesterday. The London service, with accommodations previously established in New York and now Paris as well, sets itself apart by providing houses in popular neighborhoods that demonstrate the charm and character of the city with a slew of swanky niceties such as crisp linens, fresh towels, and complimentary Wi-Fi.
Launching with two dozen homes in Santa Monica, Pacific Palisades, Venice, Brentwood, and Hollywood, onefinestay offers prices from $250 per night for a one-bedroom apartment to over $2,000 per night for a four-bedroom home. Which amenities are specific to LaLa Land, you ask? Kiehl's toiletries, Urth tea and coffee, tasty treats from Joan's on Third, and an iPhone full of insider tips on what to do, see, and eat in our fine city are just some of the perks!
“We have been deluged by interest in a Los Angeles launch, and are particularly excited about building onefinestay there because it’s a place where local knowledge is the key to unlocking the best the city has to offer," says Greg Marsh, CEO and co-founder of the service. "Living like a local is the only way to experience LA.”
And, we have to admit, even we Angelenos are tempted to take a staycation (or two...) in one of these rad unhotels this season. C'mon, could you blame us?
