Oscar De La Renta’s Latest Venture Makes Us Want To Book A Hotel Room, Stat

When we think Oscar de la Renta, we think of clothes that ooze prettiness, designed with a romantic sensibility and an unparalleled attention to detail. The same can be said of his newest venture, which takes ODLR to a place we'd never thought we'd see him: A hotel bathroom.

Created exclusively for the Peninsula Hotel, de la Renta's first amenity collection is the stuff of a frequent traveler's dreams. The collection includes the basics: shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, body lotion, and soap. But, that's about where the basics end... and the fabulousness begins. "I am happy to be able to bring some of my products to The Peninsula Hotels because they represent, like I do, a sense of quality, excitement, luxury, and magic, in a way that no one else can do it," de la Renta told us. And, with a unisex bespoke fragrance that's both citrusy and musky, packaged in a predictably gorgeous rose shape, we kind of want to book this hotel for the weekend. You know, just to shower.

As for his departure from fashion, de la Renta said, "Regardless of the project, I think that it is my role as a designer to make a woman feel her very best." We love when people want us to feel our best. And we already loved Mr. de la Renta — so, clearly, we were dying to know if we can look forward to more of him in the beauty space. His answer was teasingly vague. "Everything is a possibility," he said. "You have to live life with your eyes open."
