Charlize Theron, how do we love thee? Aside from being an amazing actress, mother, and activist — honored this week for her work promoting HIV/AIDS awareness at the Variety Power of Women luncheon — she also agrees with us. The whole white after Labor Day thing is ridiculous.
For the Variety event, Theron again went for white, choosing a Stella McCartney python jacquard dress from the Resort '14 collection. The sexy shift featured a custom strap that was added to cover up a small cut on her neck. She paired it with Giuseppe Zanotti black pumps, a heart-print Stella McCartney ‘Falabella’ clutch, and pearl earrings.
But on that Power of Women honor, she had this to say. "It's impossible for me to accept this award, because there's someone here so much more powerful than me," she acknowledged while tearing up and gesturing toward her mother, Gerda. "I hope you're okay with me giving this award to my mom. That bitch was building roads in Africa when no woman was doing that. I thank you, Mom, for teaching me by your actions how to be a strong woman, and for turning me into a p---y every time I talk to you."
We're stealing that last line for a Mother's Day card. (E!)
