If there's one thing we know about the enigmatic Nicola Formichetti, it's that he can spot a trend before it's trending. Since he's stopped stocking Lady Gaga's closet and tumbled Diesel down the road of Internet fame, Formichetti has re-emerged at the top of his game.
Grazia Daily caught up with the stylist-turned-designer-turned-creative-director at Galeries Lafayette in Paris, where his Diesel Reboot exhibition, Show Me Your Art, is on display. While he praised Lady Gaga's recent transformation, his eye was focused on the future. Aside from working with "freaks" — a term he believes to be endearing — Formichetti really, really wants to work with Miley Cyrus. "I think she’s so cool, she’s so like, 'I don’t give a f**k.' I think she’s a beautiful girl doing her thing.... I’d love to work with her."
We're a little surprised we didn't think of this sooner. The pop star's penchant for teddy bears would gel oh-so well with Formichetti's Nico Bear. Both are strong, bold individuals who are shameless in their self-expression (not to mention self promotion). Having Formichetti on her team would propel Cyrus into the even bigger leagues and, perhaps, improve her wardrobe from crop tops and hot pants. Because, if there's one thing Formichetti does well, it's mixing Tumblr-chic with refined glamour. (Grazia Daily)
